Junior catcher Nikki Ray returns to her spot behind home plate for the 2016 Clinton softball season.
Ray was a solid offensive player in 2015. She was fourth on the team in on-base percentage with .407. She trailed only Riley Bryson in terms of returning production. She was only a sophomore last year, but she managed to rise above the roster to become a contributor.
Ray said she’s looking to get more games under belt this season. She missed 10 games during 2015 because of injury. She’s hoping to have a bounce back year in relation to her confidence.
