Commissioners say yes to road work

Clinton and Weatherford both had work on major streets approved Tuesday by Custer County commissioners.
In Clinton, the work on 28th Street and Walton Road that was described in Saturday’s “Weekend” edition of the Daily News got the go-ahead, and in Weatherford long-awaited work on Lawter Road at the north edge of town was moved a little bit closer with the approval of utility relocations and right-of-way acquisition.
And one of the best things about both was that there will be no out-of-pocket cash outlay for the county. The 28th and Walton work here will be a combination deal with the City of Clinton, with the city paying for materials and District 1 Commissioner Wade Anders’ road crews doing the work.
