Riley Bryson leading as an underclassman

Sophomore shortstop Riley Bryson returns as a leader in terms of production and in experience for the Clinton softball team.
She’s the Lady Reds leading-returner in average and on-base percentage. She was one of the few bright spots on the 4-24, 2015 squad. Now, she’s looking to turn the program around under head coach Lisa Moss. But, she realizes the team has a lot to fix.
The Lady Reds saw their first action of the 2016 season last Thursday against Binger-Oney. They struggled against the 2015 1A state champs, but Bryson said there’s talent on the squad.
“We have a lot of work to do,” Bryson said. “It (the scrimmage) really opened our eyes and made us realize that we have talent here and there, but we need to work on the basics.”
