‘Beauty and the Beast’ pure entertainment

The junior version of the Disney musical “Beauty and the Beast” opens tonight at Southwest Playhouse, and in this reviewer’s opinion it would be a shame to miss it. Director Melissa McSpadden said the all-youth cast has worked hard preparing for the production, and the result is delightful.
The Disney movie version of this classic tale was written as a musical, and there are times during the SWPH production, when the entire cast becomes involved, when one is certainly reminded of watching a grand Hollywood musical from decades ago.
