This has been a good summer for area firefighters, but Clinton Chief Randy Carpenter said Friday it’s no time for people to get complacent.
“It’s getting scary. It really is,” Carpenter said after his men doused a small blaze Thursday in thick, thigh-high Johnson grass along the Farmrail right-of-way north of town that also got into a nearby dry creek bed near the Washita River.
