Ella Vogt

Funeral services for Ella Helen (Thiessen) Vogt, 93, of Corn, will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday in the Corn Mennonite Brethren Church. 
She died Sunday, Aug. 12, 2017, at Corn Heritage Village.
 Vogt was born July 9, 1924, to Henry J. and Anna (Heinrichs) Thiessen near Colony. She attended school at Gyp Hill School west of Weatherford, Pioneer School west of Colony, Corn High School in Corn, and Tabor College in Hillsboro, Kan.
She married Herb H. Vogt Dec. 2, 1943, in Corn. They made their home on the family farm south of Corn. 
Vogt was an active and faithful member of the Corn Mennonite Brethren Church, serving as a Sunday school teacher, Wednesday night Bible class teacher and an Awana listener and caterer. She volunteered at the Et Cetera Shop in Weatherford for more than 35 years. She was also a member of the American Legion Auxiliary and the Corn Senior Citizens Club, where she served as secretary/treasurer for many years. 
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; her son-in-law, J.B. Couch; her sister, Ruth Blair; and her brother, Arthur Thiessen.
Survivors include a son, Richard Vogt and wife, Cheryl, of Weatherford; two daughters, Mary Anne Couch of Corn and Karol Dillard and husband, Charles, of Weatherford; a foster son, Clyde Fletcher and wife, Cindi, of Okmulgee; a brother-in-law, John E. Vogt of Hillsboro, Kan.; a sister-in-law, Carolyn Winter of Fairview; six grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
The family has suggested that those wishing to make memorial contributions may do so to the Et Cetera Shop, 121 N. State St., Weatherford, OK 73096.
The service will be officiated by Ken Gardner and Tim Sandy. Burial will conclude at Corn Mennonite Brethren Cemetery under the direction of Kiesau-Lee Funeral Home.
