Ronald Gene Robertson
A memorial service for Ronald Gene Robertson, 78, Weatherford native and Lubbock, Texas resident, is scheduled for 2 p.m. today (Wednesday) at Lakeridge United Methodist Church, 4701 82nd St. in Lubbock.
Robertson died Sunday morning, Aug. 10, 2014. He was born on July 10, 1936, in Weatherford.
He began his career as an artist and educator in Lubbock.
He earned his Master’s Degree in public school guidance and counseling from Texas Tech University in Lubbock.
Following his counselor position at Lubbock High School, he was on the original facility at Coronado High School as counselor and activities director.
As he began his second professional career, he relocated to Houston, where he was a successful district sales manager for Deluxe Check Printers.
Preceding him in death were his parents, Everett and Arpie Robertson of Clinton.
Survivors include his wife, Joyce; two sons, Brent and his wife, Janet, of Midland, Texas, and Ryan and his wife, Valerie, of Ashburn, Va.; and two grandsons, Ian and Eli.
Extended family included Donna Ronan, Robert Wales, Jim and Janys Leary, David Leary, Kathryn Leary, Gary and Judy Caffee, Drs. Joel and Cheryl Landry and daughters, and Alan and Michelle Schnacke and daughters.
The family requests memorial contributions in his honor be made to the Alzheimer’s Foundation of America.
