Katie Froman Cypert
Funeral services for Katie Froman Cypert, 85, were held Sept. 9, 2014, at New Hope Baptist Church West. Burial followed at the Duncan Cemetery.
Mrs. Cypert died Sept. 6, 2014, in Clinton surrounded by her family.
She was born Jan. 12, 1929, in Loco, the daughter of Lee and Roma Foster. She was raised in Velma and lived most of her life in Duncan.
She married Hank Froman and they had four daughters and moved to Clinton in the early 1960s. She later married Rex Cypert and they lived for a time in Wellington, Kan., before moving back to Duncan. She had spent the last two years in Clinton with family.
Mrs. Cypert was considered to be an excellent seamstress and had a green thumb. She enjoyed playing golf and was an accomplished horse woman. She also enjoyed being a friend and dancing with Louis Williams.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her two husbands; an infant daughter, Jackie Lavern Froman; a great grandson, Billy Tate Lehew; a great-great grandson, Brylan Russ; a grandson-in-law, Chris Branson; a son-in-law, Terry Elston; two sisters, Oma Lee Willett and Tommie Smith; and two brothers, Ken Foster and Don Foster.
She is survived by her daughters, Kathryn Jones and her husband, Dewayne, Sr., Darlene Elston of Duncan, and Barbara Challis and her husband, Bill, of Clinton; eight grandchildren, Brenda Lehew, Tina Ennis, Tonja Challis Branson, Terry Lee Elston, Sheila Ray, Dewayne Jones Jr., Julie Lombard and Billie Jo Challis; 12 great grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; a sister, Stella Duckworth; a sister-in-law, Adele Foster; as well as several nieces and nephews.
