Jesus Guzman

A Mass of Christian Burial for Jesus Guzman, 44, Clinton resident, will be at 10 am. Friday in the St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Clinton, officiated by Father Thomas Pudota.

A Rosary will be at 6 p.m. Thursday in the Kiesau Memorial Chapel of Kiesau-Lee Funeral Home in Clinton.

Guzman died early Monday, Sept. 22, 2014, in an oilfield-related accident near Miami, Texas. He was born Dec. 25, 1969 to Jose Pedro Guzman and Rafaela (Avila) Guzman in Mexico.

Guzman was raised in Mexico and attended school there. When he was 18 years old, he moved to Denver, Colo. and worked in food service and then remodeling construction.

He married Martha Bonilla on Oct. 14, 2000 in Denver, Colo. He moved to Oklahoma in 2010 and settled in Clinton.

He had been working in the oilfields the last six years and was working for B.O.P. Ram Oilfield at the time of his death.

He was preceded in death by a sister, Maria Pilar (Guzman) Arreola.

Guzman was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church.

Survivors include his wife, Martha, a daughter, Viridiana Guzman, and two sons, Gustavo Guzman and Jesus Guzman, all of the home; his parents, Jose and Rafaela Guzman, of Mexico; three sisters, Maria Guadalupe Guzman, of Mexico, Maria del Carmen Guzman, and Araceli Guzman, both of Denver, Colo.; five brothers, Martin Guzman and Jose Pedro Guzman, both of Clinton, Miguel Angel Guzman, Rafael Guzman and Maugro Guzman, all of Denver, Colo.; and his maternal grandmother, Natividad Cosio, of Mexico.

Burial will conclude in the Clinton Cemetery.
