Vanessa Mendoza-Sierra

A Mass of Christian Burial for Vanessa Mendoza-Sierra, 26, former Clinton resident, will be at 10 a.m. Thursday in St. Mary’s Catholic Church at Clinton, officiated by Father Thomas Pudota.  Burial will be in the Clinton Cemetery.

A Rosary will be at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday in the Kiesau Memorial Chapel of the Kiesau-Lee Funeral Home in Clinton.

Mrs. Sierra died Friday, Sept. 26, 2014, in an automobile accident on Interstate 40 near Hinton. She was born Oct. 26, 1987, in Clinton, the daughter of Jesus and Maria Cruz (Velasquez) Mendoza.

Mrs. Sierra was raised in Clinton and graduated from Clinton High School in 2006. She continued her education at Heritage Hall Community College and received her certificate in massage therapy.

She married Cesar Sierra on Oct. 3, 2008, in Oklahoma City.

For the past two years she had worked for the Oklahoma City School System as a teacher’s assistant at Webster Middle School.

She was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church.

Survivors include her husband, Cesar, of the Oklahoma City home; her parents, Jesus and Maria Mendoza, of Clinton; two sisters, Jessica Louthan and her husband, Davy, of Arapaho, and Jennifer Tovar and her husband, Omar, of Aubrey, Texas; a paternal grandmother, Petra Romo, of Clinton; maternal grandparents, Felipe and Melinda Velasquez, of Nuevo Progresso, Tam, Mexico; and six nieces and nephews, Lorenzo Tovar, Sebastian Sambrano, Gisselle Tovar, Josiah Sambrano, Isiac Tovar and Alexa Sambrano.
