Cody Shawn Elston
A celebration of life for Cody Shawn Elston, 42 of Sentinel, will be at 2 p.m. Friday at the Sentinel First Baptist Church.
Elston died Friday, Sept. 26, 2014, near Amarillo, Texas, in an oilfield accident. He had worked in the oilfield industry for many years.
He was born to Denny Elston and Debbi Rozell on Sept. 23, 1972, in Hobart.
Raised in Sentinel, he graduated from Sentinel High School in 1991. Elston played on the Sentinel State Champion baseball team in 1991 as a pitcher.
He went on to attend Seminole Junior College on a baseball scholarship and later played baseball at the former Western State Junior College in Altus.
Survivors include his parents, Denny Elston of Rocky and Debbi Rozell of Sentinel; a sister, Dustee Thurston of Sentinel; nieces, Blazen and Ronni; aunts and uncles Kent and Susan Elston, Bentonville, Ark., Diane and Didier Drablier, Hinton, Mike and Barbara Rozell, Sugarland, Texas; Woody and Denise Rozell, Sentinel; and cousins Nikki and Jeff Clark, Enid, Joey and Brandy Rozell, Sentinel, Amy Jeffries, Houston, Texas, Michael and Jamie Rozell, Sugarland, Texas, Andy and Angie Drablier, Calgary, Canada, Lauren Drablier, New York, N.Y., Ladona and Danny Humphreys, Arkansas, Roxanne Elston, Bentonville, Ark., and Margo Elston, Arkansas.
Preceding him in death were his grandparents, Woody Sr. and Louise Rozell, and Harry and Margie Elston; and an uncle, Ronnie Rozell.
Interment will be in the Sentinel Cemetery under the direction of Musick Varner Funeral Home in Sentinel.
