Dorothy Mae (Van Winkle) Myers

Funeral services for Dorothy Mae (Van Winkle) Myers, 69, Burns Flat resident, will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in the First Presbyterian Church in Burns Flat, officiated by Rev. Tom Burns.

Mrs. Myers died Christmas morning, Dec. 25, 2014, in her Burns Flat home. She was born Sept. 22, 1945 in Lodi, Calif., the daughter of Charles and Jewell Van Winkle.

Mrs. Myers was raised partly in Oklahoma and mostly in California. When living in California she worked in a cannery. She moved to Oklahoma and was employed with the Clintons Veterans Center as a nurse’s aide for more than 13 years. She was medically disabled in 2007 and was forced to retire.

She was married to Morris “Mo” Myers on Sept. 22, 2005 in Burns Flat, where they made their home.

Preceding her in death were her parents and a brother, Lee Van Winkle.

Survivors include her husband, “Mo,” of the home; five daughters, Deanna Watson, Burns Flat, Kristina Orth, Foss, Susie Davis, Norman, Cindy Hurley, Burns Flat, and Michelle Chadwick, Foss; five sons, Mike Stewart, Kingfisher, Jimmy Stewart, Luther, Joshua Myers, Burns Flat, Chad Allen Myers, Burns Flat and Brent Jacob Myers, Burns Flat; 17 grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.

Burial will follow in the North Burns cemetery, under the direction of the Kiesau-Lee Funeral Home, Clinton.
