Maria Senaida “Sandy” Waltrip

Funeral services for Maria Senaida “Sandy” Waltrip, 72, of Arapaho, will be at 11 a.m. Monday in the Arapaho First Baptist Church, officiated by Vann Leonard and Wendell Folsom.

Mrs. Waltrip died Thursday, Jan. 22, 2015 in the Grace Living Center in Clinton. She was born June 1, 1942 in McAllen, Texas, the daughter of Luz Gonzalea and Josephina (Morales) Gonzales.

Preceding her in death were her parents, Luz and Josephina Gonzales; a son, Tim Waltrip; a granddaughter, Heidi Cooper; sisters, Frances Reyna and Lisa Roach; and three brothers, Jesse Gonzalez, Manuel Garcia and Luz Gonzalez.

Survivors include her husband, Dean E. Waltrip; sons, John Waltrip, Jerry Waltrip, Pete Ponce, Ray Ponce, Kenny Hobbs, Jerrell Hobbs; daughters, Dewanna Wynn, Debbie Gorman, and Cheryl Lovejoy; four sisters, Nancy Biggs, Mary Perez, Petra Quionones and Ophelia Torres; four brothers, Herman Garcia, Johnny Gonzalez, Emilo Gonzales and Arnold Gonzalez; 19 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren; and 1 great-great-grandchild.

Visitation will be Sunday from 1 until 8 p.m. at the Kiesau-Lee Funeral Home in Clinton.

Burial will be in the Arapaho Cemetery.
