Jamie Marie White
A traditional Omaha Indian burial service for Jamie Marie White, 48, Geary resident, will be at 11 a.m. Monday in the Multi-Purpose Center in Watonga, officiated by family members.
Burial will conclude in the Lumpmouth Family Cemetery, west of Geary, under the direction of the Kiesau-Lee Funeral Home in Clinton.
An all-night wake service will begin at 7 p.m. Sunday in the Multi-Purpose Center.
Ms. White was born Nov. 20, 1966 in Winnebago, Neb., the daughter of Clarence Ansley White and Marietta (Sleeper) White and died Thursday, Feb. 26, 2015, at Mercy Hospital in Oklahoma City.
She was raised in Omaha, Neb. and in the Geary area. She continued her education at the Canadian Valley Vo-Tech in El Reno where she received her certificate and worked as phlebotomist at the Mercy Hospital in Oklahoma City until failing health forced her retirement.
Preceding her in death were her parents, and a nephew, Larry Jones.
She was a member of the Chief Cornerstone Church in Geary and was proud of her Omaha and Cheyenne/Arapaho Indian heritage.
In 1985 she was the Omaha Labor Day Princess in Dodge Park in Omaha, Neb.
Survivors include a sister, Lydia West, and her husband, William, of Geary; a brother, Clarence White, Jr., Geary; nieces and a nephew, Laura Jones, of Clinton, Autumn Eneremadu, of Norman, and Charles Jones, of Geary; and three grandchildren, Joslyn Jones, Seneca Jones and Marietta Jones.
