Mark Malcomb McAtee

A memorial service for Mark Malcomb McAtee, 72, Clinton resident, will be at 2 p.m. Monday in the First United Methodist Church, officiated by Rev. Roland Youngberg and Doyle Kinney.

McAtee was born Aug. 21, 1942, to Richard Henry McAtee and Emma Martha Schultz (McAtee) in Clinton and died Wednesday, March 4, 2015, at his Clinton home.

McAtee was raised in the Stafford community and graduated from Stafford High School in 1960.

He continued his education at the University of Oklahoma in Norman for two years.

He was married to Judy Bellah on Feb. 15, 1963, in Clinton. They had made this their home since.

McAtee worked for the Clinton Daily News for 17 years before managing a local radio station.

He later was employed with J. Joe Smith Real Estate. He had also served as economic development director for the City of Clinton, and he retired from SWODA as the Clinton-Sherman Industrial Airpark manager in 2008.

McAtee was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Clinton and had served as president of the Noon Lions Club. He was an avid golfer and enjoyed attending his grandchildren’s sporting events.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Mary Jo Friesen; and three brothers, Harry, Franklin and Gordon.

Survivors include his wife, Judy, of the home; a daughter, Dana Price and her husband, Jim, of Cordell; a son, Todd McAtee, and his fiancee, Candi Rose, of Clinton; two sisters, Gay Nell Pyron of Stafford and Glenna Anderson and her husband, Alan, of Owasso; a sister-in-law, Nancy McAtee, Clinton; seven grandchildren, Grant McAtee, Mitchell McAtee, Manning McAtee, Micah McAtee, Brett Price, Morgen Price and Berkley Price; and three great-grandchildren, Mason McAtee, Maddison McAtee and Matthew McAtee.

A private burial will be held at a later date in the Parkersburg Cemetery under the direction of Kiesau-Lee Funeral Home.
