T.J. Musick
A viewing for T.J. Musick, 71, Foss Lake Estates resident, will be until 8 p.m. today (Tuesday) and from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the Kiesau-Lee Funeral Home in Clinton.
Friends and family will be staging a “T.J. Musick Memorial Cook-out” at 1 p.m. Saturday in his barn at the Foss Lake Estates home.
Musick died early Monday, March 9, 2015, in his Foss Lake Estates home. He was born March 2, 1943 to Elmer “Scooter” Musick and Nellie Ruth (Varnell) Musick in Wheeler, Texas.
He was raised in Cheyenne and graduated from Cheyenne High School in 1962.
He worked at a local feed store before starting a career with Helmerich and Payne International Drilling Company in 1967, where he worked for 38 years.
Musick was a drilling superintendent for 30 years of that time and watched over drilling rigs all over Utah, Wyoming, Texas, Louisiana, Mississippi and Oklahoma.
He had made his homes in Cheyenne, Big Piney, Wyo., Oklahoma City and Foss Lake, as well as Cloudcroft, N.M.
Upon his retirement, Musick started working with the local FFA groups.
Preceding him in death were his parents; two wives, Clara Faye Wyrick and Dorothy (Siler); a sister, Opal Faye Butler; and three brothers, E.L. Johnnie and Roger Musick.
Survivors include his wife, Laura Musick, of the home; two daughters, Tammy Jeffrey, of Butler, Gloria Handke, and her husband, Doug, of Foss Lake, and a daughter of his heart, Carrie Dawn Lovette, of Cheyenne; two step-sons, Kevin Miller and his wife, Krissy, Cloudcroft, N.M. and David Miller and his wife Clarissa, of Foss Lake; seven grandchildren, Valisha McClellan , Rowdy Hartley, Travis Hartley, and wife, Evie, Cody Jeffery, and his wife, Amber, Tanya Rockhold, Tyler Miller and Dayson Miller; and 10 great-grandchildren, Keaton, Kyle, Kaden, KayDee, Kadence, Gunner, Cutter, Adrien, Cory and Clara.
The family has suggested those wanting to give a memorial contribution in Musick’s honor may do so to the Butler Emergency Medical Services (EMS), P.O. Box 121, or the Butler Fire Department, P.O. Box 145, Butler, OK 73625.
