George “Butch” Herschel Fancher II

Funeral services for George “Butch” Herschel Fancher II, 73, former Butler resident, were scheduled for 10 a.m. today (Friday) in the Butler Baptist Church, officiated by Patrick Peters.

Fancher was born Jan. 25, 1942 in Clinton, the son of George H. and Viola Mae [Baker] Fancher. He died Tuesday, March 10, 2015, in Integris Baptist Hospital at Edmond.

Fancher was raised in the Butler community and graduated from Butler High School in 1959.

He was employed with United States Post Office and served 37 years before retiring in 2007.

He was married to Stormie Young, and she preceded him in death.

He later married Marilyn F. Crutchfield on Aug. 14, 1992.

He was a member of the Fairview Baptist Church in Edmond.

Preceding him in death were his parents; his first wife; and his son, George Fancher III.

Survivors include his wife, Marilyn, of the home; two step daughters, Tammy White, and her husband, Royston, of Edmond, and Julie Morton, of Wellston; a brother-in- law, Leon Whittington, of Butler; three grandchildren, Austin Morton, Michaela Morton and Dustin Murchison; and four nephews.

Burial will follow in the Butler Cemetery, under the direction of Kiesau-Lee Funeral Home in Clinton.
