Chester Leon Lee
Funeral services for Chester Lee, 85, Arapaho resident, will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in the Gospel Tabernacle Church in Arapaho, officiated by Rev. Wendell Folsom and Rev. Dean Brookshier.
Chester Leon Lee was born June 9, 1929 to Cecil Lee and Kibby (Kinder) Lee in Eakly. He died early Monday, April 27 2015, in his Arapaho home.
Lee was raised in Eakly as a young man and then during the Dust Bowl his family moved to California where he finished high school and graduated.
He enlisted in the U.S. Army during World War II. He then returned to Oklahoma in Custer County and had lived in Arapaho for the past several years.
He had been married to Janet McCollum and Olive Darnell. On March 19, 1966 he married Edwina June Wilt in Tanner, W.Va. He had been employed at Clinton Laundry and most recently was with Mel Wells in the amusement business — juke boxes, video games and other coin-operated machines.
Preceding him in death were his parents; a son, Chet Lee; a grandson, Blain Shindler; a great-grandson, Jordan Hughes; a brother, S.T. Lee; and a sister, Hazel Lee.
He was an Arapaho volunteer firefighter.
Survivors include his wife of almost 50 years, Edwina, of the home; six daughters, Kathy Williams, and her husband, Bruce, of California, Theresa Lee, of California, Debbie Bowman, and her husband, Allen, of Wyoming, Holly Jaramillo, and her husband, John, of Kansas, Leauna Shindler, of Oklahoma, Dale Carter, and her husband, David, of Kansas; two sons, Mike Lee and his wife, Margaret, of California, and Greg Lee, of Arapaho; two sisters, Darlene Ford, and her husband, Rod, of Gage, and Doris Lee, of Cedar Lake; two brothers, Ralph Lee, of Clinton and Jack Lee, and his wife, Kay, of Clinton; 21 grandchildren; and 32 great-grandchildren.
Burial will conclude in the Eakly Cemetery, under the direction of Kiesau-Lee Funeral Home in Clinton.
