Larry Gene Fox

Memorial services for former Butler resident Larry Gene Fox, of Shawnee, will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Walker’s Funeral Home, 201 E 45th St., Shawnee.

Fox died Saturday, May 2, 2015, at Cornerstone Hospital in Shawnee. He was born April 12, 1939 to Lester Allen and Lorena (Fancher) Fox.

Fox worked for the state as a surveyor, then owned and operated Del Plaza Laundry and Dry Cleaners and owned and operated Fox’s Land and Survey for several years.

His health had declined in the last several years. Fox loved the lake, and they spent many years at Lake Eufaula with family and friends.

Preceding him in death were his parents; a brother, Jerry Don; a sister, Loretta Smith; and a grandson, Michael Armstrong.

Survivors include his wife, Virginia; a daughter, Gina Carol, and her husband, C.A. Armstrong, a son, James “Jem” Lester, and his wife, Michelle, grandchildren, Candace and Ty, all of Shawnee; several step grandchildren; sisters, Judy Kay and Dana Carter of Hammon; and several nephews and nieces.
