Wilbur Hays
Wilbur Carl Hays was born on Feb.15, 1925 in Waurika, OK to Carl and wife Bertie (Dromgoole) Hays. He passed away on Jan 14, 2016 in Clinton, OK at the age of 90.
Wilbur attended Richland Community and Geary schools. He received an honorary High School Diploma from Geary, OK. Wilbur served in the U.S. 5th Marine Division. He served in the occupation of Iwo Jima and Japan.
Wilbur married Nellie Pauline Peck in Watonga, OK on Jan. 25th 1947. He lived his life in Geary, Watonga and Fay areas. Wilbur worked as a diesel mechanic and farmer. He was a life-time member of Pleasant Ridge Baptist church in Geary OK. Wilbur enjoyed fishing, fellowshipping with people and family gatherings.
Survivors include: His daughters Esther Hays and Anna Mae Seals from Hydro, OK.
His son, Pierce and wife Janet Hays, Grandson Shane Hays and granddaughter Christine Hays. Great-grandchildren; Malchia and Aiden Hays all from Copers Cove, TX.
His son, Terry and wife LaRhonda Hays from Skiatook, OK., Grandchildren; Dustin Cabioc from Vian, OK., Kaitlin and husband Dave Ives, Heather Hays, Nicholas Hays and William Hays. Great-grandchildren; Aidan, Israel and Jude Ives, all from Kalamazoo, MI.
Wilbur’s sisters are Bernice Coppage, from Bolivar, MO. Carol Baldwin, from CA. As well as many other nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He was proceeded in death by his parents, Carl and Bertie Hays, wife Pauline Hays. His siblings, Mary Frances Gann, Hershell Hays and Richard Hays.
