Janice Ann Dyck

Funeral services for Janice Ann Dyck, 74, of Bessie, will be held at 2 p.m. today in the Peace Lutheran Church. 
She died Friday, Nov. 24, 2017 in her Bessie home.
Janice Ann (Duerksen) Dyck was born June 30, 1943, to Henry D. and Marie (Funk) Duerksen in Goessel, Kan. She was raised in Newton, Kan., and graduated from high school in 1961. Dyck worked as a secretary at Gerden’s Trailer Factory and at Kansas State Bank.
On March 21, 1964, she married Donald E. Dyck in Newton. The couple settled in Bessie, where she worked for a short time with Kiwash Electric but spent most her time working for Peace Lutheran Church as a secretary and organist.
Dyck was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Deloise Ann Duerksen and Aldene Stucky.
Survivors include her husband, of the home; daughter, Shelley Bookout and husband Mark of Dill City; brothers and sister, Monroe Duerksen and wife Shirley of Kansas City, Kan., Dillard Duerksen and wife Roberta of Valley Center, Kan., Jay Duerksen and wife Karen of Wichita, Kan., Leona Arthurs and husband Kenny, Red Feather, Colo.; sister-in-law, Anna Marie Lewis and husband Charles of Oklahoma City.
She is survived by two grandsons; Billy Jake Bookout of Bessie and Rusty Don Bookout of Dill City and many nieces and nephews.

The service will be officiated by Pastor Jerry Lamb. Burial will conclude at Peace Lutheran Cemetery in Bessie under the direction of Kiesau-Lee Funeral Home.
