Bennie Lee Hester

Chapel services for Bennie Lee Hester, 55, former Clinton resident, will be at 2 p.m. Friday in the Kiesau Memorial Chapel of Kiesau-Lee Funeral Home in Clinton, officiated by Rev. Larry Cato and Rev. Tyrone Lewis.

Hester died Sunday, Nov. 9, 2014, at Integris Hospice House in Oklahoma City.

He was born Jan. 22, 1959, in Clinton, the son of Joann (Murphy) and Bennie Lee Coward.

Raised in Clinton, he graduated from Clinton High School in 1967. Hester had made his home in Elk City and Oklahoma City.

He had worked with the Oklahoma City Compassion for the past 20 years.

He was a minister of the Church of the Nazarene.

Preceding him in death were his mother, Joann Hester; his father, Bennie Lee Coward; and a sister, Judy Lister.

Survivors include his wife, Susan, of the Oklahoma City home; three sisters, Glenda Atkins, of Clinton, Linda McCarty, of California, and Cassandra Lister, of Georgia; eight brothers, Johnny Lee Hester, of Clinton, Frankie Hester, of Las Vegas, Nev., Robert Hester, of Oklahoma City, Ira Hester, of Oklahoma City, Ronald Lister, of Clinton, Bobby Hester, of Clinton, and Tyrone Lister, of Missouri; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Burial will be in the Clinton Cemetery.
