Carol Bullcoming
Funeral services for Carol Joyce Bullcoming, 75, of Hammon, will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday in the Hammon school auditorium.
She died Friday, Aug. 26, 2016, in Elk City.
Carol Joyce Fingernail Bullcoming was born Sept. 1, 1940, in Hammon. She was raised in Hammon and graduated from high school in 1958. She married George Bullcoming, in Hammon, and they made their homes in Seiling and Hammon.
Bullcoming was a teacher’s aide for Hammon Schools for more than 34 years. She also taught the Cheyenne language at Southwestern Oklahoma State University, in Weather ford.
She was a member of the Indian Baptist Church. Bullcoming enjoyed being with her grandchildren and teaching them the Cheyenne language.
She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; two sons, George Richard Bullcoming and Vernon Roy Bullcoming; a brother, Martin Fingernail; and two sisters, Tonita Sankey and Nadine Orange.
Bullcoming is survived by two children, Maureen Bullcoming and Barry Bullcoming and wife, Alesia; two sisters, Christine Starr and Louise White Eagle, all of Hammon; nine grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
The service will be officiated by Pastor Dolan Ivey, Pastor Delfred Whitecrow Jr. and Pastor Dwayne Byrd. Interment will follow at Hammon Indian Cemetery under the direction of Kiesau-Lee Funeral Home.
An all-night wake service will be held at 7 p.m. tonight in the Hammon Indian Community Building.
