Charlene Mae Wells

Funeral services for Charlene Mae Wells, 95, of Clinton will be held at 2 p.m., Monday, Dec. 23, 2013, in the Kiesau Memorial Chapel, with the Rev. Buck Nicholson officiating.
Wells was born Oct. 25, 1918, the daughter of Clarence L. and Amy (Hill) Swearingen  in Clinton.
She died Thursday at Grace Living Center.
She was raised in the Clinton area and attended school at the Union School located on her parents' land.
She was married to Mr. W. C. “Bill” Wells, Sr. in 1936 in Cordell. They made their home in Oregon, California before settling back in the Clinton area in 1943.  They farmed for many years and raised cattle west of Clinton.
She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, four sisters, two brothers and a grandson, Charles Wells.
She is survived by three sons, Bill Wells Jr. and his wife Alfreda, Darrell Wells and Bruce Wells, all of Clinton; a daughter, Shelia (Wells) Cranford, of Oklahoma City; nine grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, eight great-great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Burial will be in the Clinton Cemetery under the direction of the Kiesau-Lee Funeral Home.
