Clara Marie (Reinschmiedt) Ross

   Funeral services for Clara Marie (Reinschmiedt) Ross, age 83 of Clinton, will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Peace Lutheran Church of Bessie, officiated by Rob Spicer.

   Mrs. Ross died early Monday, July 7, 2014, at Integris Clinton Regional Hospital after a brief illness. She was born May 19, 1931, the daughter of Wilhelm “Bill” and Pauline (Wohl) Reinschmiedt.

   She grew up in Bessie and graduated from Clinton High School in 1949. She married her high school sweetheart and love of her life, Clair L. Ross, on April 9, 1950 at Peace Lutheran Church of Bessie.

   Clara had worked for TG&Y in Clinton at an early age. In 1962, she and her husband moved to Las Cruces, N.M., where they lived until his death in August of 2003. At that time she returned to Clinton.

   While in Las Cruces, she worked as purchasing agent for the New Mexico State University Bookstore until her retirement in 1996.

   She was a member of the Peace Lutheran Church of Bessie and was a long-time member of the Peace Lutheran Church in Las Cruces, N.M.

   Preceding her in death were her husband of 53 years; her parents; brothers John Reinschmiedt and his wife Lillian, Ruben Reinschmiedt and Donald Reinschmiedt; sisters Rosa Reinschmiedt Ross and Edna Reinschmiedt Howard; brother-in-law Paul Dick and nephew Mike Howard.

   Survivors include three sisters Vera Dick of Oklahoma City, Gladys Pankratz and husband Dwayne of Cordell, and Lillian Neuman and husband John of Northridge, Calif.; a double brother-in-law, Cork Ross, and sister-in-law, Juanita Reinschmiedt, both of Clinton; brother-in-law Don Howard of Cordell and sister-in-law Ynez Reinschmiedt, of Los Angeles, Calif.; double niece and nephew Marsha Ross Moore of Arapaho and Mark Ross of Allen, Texas; nieces Karen McGurk of Little Rock, Ark., Pamela Reichert, El Reno, Debbie Gudgel, Oklahoma City, Linda Nimmo, Weatherford, and Michelle and Shari Reinschmiedt, Los Angeles, Calif., nephews Larry Reinschmiedt, Clinton, Curtis Dick, Winfield, Kan., Glen Dick, Oklahoma City, Doyle Dick, Greenville, Texas, Keith Howard, Palm Springs, Calif., Kirk Pankratz, Oklahoma City, Steve Pankratz, Yukon,, Scott Reinschmiedt, Leland, N.C., and Donnie and Rick Reinschmiedt, Los Angeles, Calif.; along with numerous great-nieces and nephews.

   Burial will be in the Peace Lutheran Cemetery, under direction of Kiesau-Lee Funeral Home of Clinton.

   Memorials may be made to the Peace Lutheran Church Memorial Pavilion Fund of Bessie or to the charity of one’s choice.
