Cloyd Franklin Campbell

Funeral services for Cloyd Franklin Campbell, 91, Butler resident, will be at 10 a.m. Saturday in the Kiesau Memorial Chapel of the Kiesau-Lee Funeral Home, Clinton, with Rev. Roger Comstock officiating.
Campbell died Monday, Nov. 18, 2013, in the Clinton Veterans Center. He was born Dec. 10, 1921 to Charles G. and Etta (Grubb) Campbell in Cribbs.
Cloyd was a young boy when he came to Oklahoma in a covered wagon with his parents from Arkansas. His mother passed away when he was very young, and his father married Flossie, who helped raise him.
They made their home in Butler where he attended school.  He married the former Miss Iona Roachell on June 25, 1942 in Butler.
He soon joined the U.S. Air Force and served his four year stint, and after his discharge he returned to Butler to be with his family.
He chose to re-enlist and went to Lawton and joined the U.S. Army and spent five more years before he was honorably discharged.
He then began to farm and lived in Lawton for a short time before moving back to Butler and then Clinton. He worked for the Acme Brick Plant for a short time and then moved his family to Bethany. He then moved to California to work in a plane manufacturing plant for about two years and then he began working in the canneries as a machine mechanic.
Campbell spent 20 years with the canneries and retired.  He then took up landscaping and manicuring lawns before moving back to Oklahoma in 1991.
Preceding him in death were his wife in 1997; a son, Marvin Campbell; a sister, Effie Mathis; brothers, Ed Campbell and Don Campbell; and his step-mother, Flossie Campbell.
He was a member of the Pentecostal Holiness Church, American Legion, Veterans of Foreign Wars, Choctaw Veterans and Toastmasters.
Survivors include two daughters, Jo Andazola and Cynthia Campbell, both of Butler; three sons, Frank Campbell and his wife, Wilma, Fallen, Nev., Jack Campbell, El Reno, and Mike Campbell and his wife, Sherry, Stockton, Calif.; two brothers, Bill Campbell and his wife, Sharon, Florida, and Charles Campbell, Pratt, Kan.; 13 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.
Burial will follow in the Butler Cemetery.
