Curtis Bernard Reilly

A Mass of Christian Burial for Curtis Bernard Reilly, 88, longtime Clinton resident, will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday in the St. Mary’s Catholic Church, officiated by Father Stephen Bird and Father John Aram.
A wake service will be at 6 p.m. Monday in the Kiesau Memorial Chapel of the Kiesau-Lee Funeral Home, in Clinton.
Reilly died late Thursday, Dec. 26, 2013, in the Clinton Veterans Center. He was born Dec. 15, 1925, in Clinton, the son of Edward Patrick Reilly and Josie (Bean) Reilly.
He was raised in Arapaho and graduated from Arapaho High School in 1944. He soon enlisted in the United States Army in October of 1944 and served in World War II.
Reilly received his honorable discharge in August 1946. He returned to the Clinton area and was employed farming and working in a dairy. He also worked in the local Farmers’ Co-op driving a feed truck.
He married DeLores Brady on July 24, 1948, in Clinton.
He started a career with the Tuberculosis Sanatorium in 1953, where he was the purchasing agent.
At the closing of the sanatorium, he continued to work for the new Clinton Veterans Center in the same position.
Reilly later was involved with Oklahoma General Hospital as well as the new Clinton Hospital. After his retirement from the hospital he continued to do his farming, and he owned and operated the local skating rink.
He also built numerous homes in the Clinton area.
He was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church and a lifetime member of the American Legion, having served as Legion post commander several times.
He was a member for more than 65 years, as well as being a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and the Custer County Cattleman’s Association.
Preceding him in death were his wife; his parents; three sisters, Marcella Janning, Ida Lorene “Chick” Shahan and Mary Mildred “Peggy” Bailey; and three brothers, Lawrence Reilly, Lewis Reilly and Leo Patrick Reilly.
Survivors include two sons, Phillip Reilly and his wife, Judy, and Barry Reilly and his wife, Kathi, of Hennessey; a brother, Henry Reilly and his wife, Mary, of Collinsville; a brother-law, Dale Bailey, of Edmond; a sister-in-law, Louise Reilly, of Tulsa; five grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Burial will be in the Clinton Cemetery.
