Doyle Ray Beers

A memorial service for Doyle Ray Beers, 73, rural Putnam resident, will be at 11:30 a.m. Friday at the Putnam Christian Church, with pastors David Beck and Dennis Adair officiating.
Beers was the oldest of three children born to Joe and Callie Elizabeth (Sullivan) Beers, He was born May 14, 1940 on the family farm northwest of Putnam in Dewey County. He was found dead at his home near Putnam on Friday, Dec. 20, 2013.
He attended all 12 years at Putnam School, graduating from high school there with the class of 1958.
Beers continued to make his home on the family farm, where he farmed and ranched.
He raised cattle, goats and sheep but his main interest in livestock was his Yorkshire hogs, which he began showing at age 14.
He cared for his aging mother following the death of his father and continued his farming operation. He attended the Putnam Christian Church.
Survivors include one sister, Judy Whitacre and her husband, J. C., of Putnam; one brother, Mark Beers and his wife, Donita, of Blair; and nieces, nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Private burial will be in the Fairview Cemetery near Putnam, under the direction of the Redinger Funeral Home, of Seiling.
Memorial contributions in his honor may be made to the Putnam School Community Building, Putnam Senior Citizens or Putnam Christian Church with Redinger, P.O. Box 236, Seiling, OK 73663, serving as custodian of the funds.
