Franklin Delano Loveless
Funeral services for Franklin Delano Loveless, 81, Norman resident, are scheduled for 2 p.m. today (Thursday) at Bethel Baptist Church, with the Rev. James Ehrlich officiating.
Loveless died Sunday, April 12, 2015. Born in Quanah, Texas on May 25, 1933, Loveless was one of 11 children born to James Cube Loveless and Jessie Estelle Clements Loveless.
He served his country and joined the U.S. Army, working as a radar operator for the 49th Anti-Aircraft Artillery Battalion during the Korean War.
On Aug. 26, 1954, he married Camilla Joan Hankins and together they shared more than 60 years of marriage. Loveless studied at Texas Tech University, University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center and Western Oklahoma State College before spending most of his career in hospital and nursing home administration
He was also trained as a lab and x-ray technician and had worked as a real estate Broker.
He was a member of Bethel Baptist Church, Rotary International, the OK Real Estate Association, OK Hospital Association and the OK Nursing Home Association.
For many years he wrangled and taught eighth grade boys Sunday school at First Baptist Church in Hollis.
Survivors include his wife, Camilla “Millie” Joan Hankins Loveless, of the home; three daughters and two sons-in-law, Vicky Jayenell Smith of Norman, Karen Sue “Susy” and Brad Bartlett of Newcastle, D’Linda and Brad Neidy, of Clinton; a son and daughter-in-law, Blake Loveless and Nancy Van Doren of Tulsa; a brother and three sisters-in-law, Gerald and Lynn Loveless, Ann Loveless and Faye Chenault; a brother-in-law, Dwight Hankins, and his wife, Judy; nine grandchildren, Leah Smith, Russ Smith and his wife, Jessica, Bruce Bartlett, and his wife, Rebecca, Blythe Lyles, and her husband, Will, Brady Bartlett, Taylor Neidy, Paige Neidy, Erika Van Doren and Blake Van Doren; and eight great-grandchildren, Hannah Beeson, Franklin Houts, Griffin Houts, Elley Hogin, Baron Smith, Camden Bartlett, Brooklyn Lyles and Deacon Lyles.
Burial will follow at the Warren Cemetery.
