Gabriel G. Elizondo

Mass of Christian Burial  for Gabriel G. Elizondo, 76, of Colony, will be at 1 p.m. today (Friday) at St. Eugene Catholic Church, Weatherford, with Father Chris Tran officiating.
A rosary service was held Thursday night in the chapel of Lockstone Funeral Home in Weatherford.
Elizondo was born March 24, 1937 to Apolonio and Celestina Elizondo.
He died Sunday, Dec. 29 , 2013, at Weatherford Regional Hospital.
On Aug. 18, 1955, he married Maria Benavidz in Dilley, Texas.  They made their home in Dilley, where they lived for the next 12 years. In 1973, they moved to Weatherford, where he worked for Trojan Livestock until his retirement.
Preceding him in death were his parents; wife, Maria B. Elizondo; brother, Silverio; sister, Monica  Guarjardo; and two grandsons, Grant and one in infancy.
Survivors include five sons, Alfred Elizondo, of Colony, Daniel Elizondo and his wife Nilda, of Weatherford, Gabriel Elizondo Jr. of Bridgeport, W.Va., Chris Elizondo and his wife, Billie Jo, of Corn, and Henarro Elizondo, of Amarillo, Texas; six daughters, Maria Harper and her husband, Wendall, of Weatherford, Beatrice Elizondo, of Colony, Erlinda Donners and her husband, Kent, of Joliet, Ill., Margaret Elizondo of Cordell, Rebecca Castrejon, of Anadarko, and Joyce Elizondo, of Cordell; 30 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; six sisters, Eva, Libby, Rosa, Rita, Gloria and Elena; and six brothers, Matilde, Jose, Elpido, Efrian, Martin, and Hildo.
Burial will follow at Greenwood Cemetery, northwest of Weatherford, under the direction of Lockstone Funeral Home, of Weatherford.
