Gay Nell Pyron

Funeral services for Gay Nell (McAtee) Pyron, 83, Stafford resident, will be at 2 p.m. Friday in the Clinton First Christian Church, officiated by Doyle Kinney and Jeff McDowell.

Mrs. Pyron died early Tuesday, March 10, 2015, in the Angelwood Living Center in Clinton. She was born Nov. 16, 1931 in Clinton, the daughter of Richard H. and Emma (Schultz) McAtee.

Mrs. Pyron was raised in Stafford, where she graduated from high school in 1949.

She married R.L. Pyron on June 1, 1949 in Wichita Falls, Texas. They made their home in the Stafford community and lived in two different locations, where they farmed their entire married life.

She had also worked in Clinton at Guthrie’s Men’s Wear and Lady Adelta’s.

She was a longtime faithful and active member of the First Christian Church.

Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband; four brothers, Frank, Harry, Gordon and Mark McAtee; and a sister, Mary Jo Friesen.

Survivors include two sons, Marty Pyron, and his wife, Carla, of Arapaho, and Max Pyron, and his wife Judy, of Weatherford; a sister, Glenna Anderson, and her husband, Al, of Owasso; two sisters-in-law, Nancy McAtee and Judy McAtee, both of Clinton; three grandchildren, Shawn Pyron, and his wife, Katina, Amy Kliewer, Whit Pyron, and his wife, Lindsey; and six great-grandchildren, Kimberlyn, Ethan, Emma, Garret, Ryker and Lenox; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Burial will conclude in the Stafford Cemetery, under the direction of Kiesau-Lee Funeral Home in Clinton.
