Ginger Dalene (Whittington) Smith

   Funeral services for Ginger Dalene (Whittington) Smith, 43, Arapaho resident, were scheduled for 10 a.m. today (Tuesday) in the Kiesau Memorial Chapel of the Kiesau-Lee Funeral Home in Clinton, officiated by Rev. Wendell Folsom and Rev. Alan Thompson.

   Burial was set for the Arapaho Cemetery.

   Mrs. Smith died early Friday, June 27, 2014, in the Integris Clinton Regional Hospital. She was born Nov. 1, 1970, the daughter of James Kyle Ray and Sandra Jo (Thompson) Ray, in Wichita, Kan.

   She was raised in Arapaho, where she graduated from high school in 1989. During her high school years she was active on the yearbook staff.

   She had moved to Edgewater and attended Cameron University in Lawton, where she graduated in 2003 with a criminal justice degree, after which Mrs. Smith worked for the U.S. Investigation Services as a special investigator.

   She was married to Nicky Smith Jr. on Jan. 29, 2009 in Dallas, Texas. They made their home in Edgewater and later moved to Walters.

   She was employed there at McDonalds, helped with newspaper delivery and worked for the Cotton County Sheriff’s Office.

   They had moved back to Custer County and settled in Arapaho earlier this year.

   Mrs. Smith was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Joe and Gloria Thompson.

   Survivors include her husband, Nicky Jr, a daughter, Abby Smith, and two sons, Stoney Whittington and Bryan Cornier, all of the Arapaho home; her parents, Kyle and Sandra Ray, of Burns Flat and Frank and Marla Reardon and Dale and Mary Kay Whittington, all of Arkansas; a sister, Vanessa Wohl and her husband, Andrew, of Branson, Mo.;  a brother, Charlie Whittington, of Thackerville; a step-brother, Frank Reardon Jr., and two step-sisters, Rachel Casey and Dadrian Russell, all of Arkansas; a grandson, Adrian Rosales, of Arapaho; and her father and mother-in-law, Nicky and Judy Smith, of Arapaho.
