Glenda Fay Breitling

Memorial services for Glenda Fay Breitling, age 68, will be at 1 p.m. Eastern Standard Time Saturday at Christian Victory Center Church of God, 2205 SW 96th St., Stuart, Fla.

Mrs. Breitling was a longtime resident of Clinton before moving to Palm City, Fla. in 2010.

She died Saturday, Sept. 20, in her daughter’s home in Palm City. She was born Jan. 30, 1946 in Clinton, the daughter of Floyd Herbert and Gracie Glennabell Arter.

She attended Clinton High School and married Melvin Ray Breitling on May 9, 1964.

Her work experience included retail management, hotel management, battered women’s shelter and banking. She had been retired for several years.

Mrs. Breitling had been a member of Christian Victory Center Church of God for four years. Prior to that, she was a member of First Church of God in Clinton.

Preceding her in death, along with her parents, was her husband of 38 years, Melvin Breitling; and her sister, Florence Cooksey.

Survivors include her three daughters, Janice Hackett and her husband, Keith, of Edmond, Kathleen Amidon and her husband, Kendall, of Palm City, Fla., and Sandra Smith and her husband, Terry, of Denham Springs, La.; 7 grandchildren; 1 great-grandchild; a brother, Lawrence Arter; a sister, Trudy Mericle; and numerous nieces and nephews.
