Jack Baker

 

Funeral services for Jack Baker, 81, of Butler will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at First Baptist Church in Foss.
Baker died Wednesday, Nov. 14, 2018, at Cordell Christian Home in Cordell.
Raymond Lee “Jack” Baker was born April 27, 1937, to Grover Cleveland Baker and Bertha Gertrude Sanger Baker in Butler. He was raised in Butler and graduated from Butler High school in 1955. 
On June 4, 1958, he married Denise Fern Earles in Clinton. 
Baker was a heavy equipment operator. Some of the projects he worked on were Foss Lake and Stanley Draper Lake dams, parts of I-40, and while working for Bob Spillers of Elk City he worked on many oil field sites and housing additions. He also raised cattle and worked for Custer County District 1 for 16 years. 
He was a member of Foss First Baptist Church. He served on the Butler City Council for 16 years, 14 of them as mayor, and was active in the Butler Roundup Club for many years. 
Baker was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers, Loyd Baker, Glenard Baker, Melvin Baker and Junior Baker; and four sisters, Pauline Rose, Beulah Klein, Lola Faye Miles and Melba Klein.
Survivors include his wife, of the home; a daughter, RaDonna Priddy and husband Rick of Mannsville; two grandsons, Raymond Priddy and wife DesiRae and Russell Priddy and wife Lyndsie, one granddaughter, Renae McCormick, and one great-granddaughter, Isabella Priddy, all of Ardmore.
The family will greet guests from 6-8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
The service will be officiated by Dean Derieg. Burial will follow at Butler Cemetery under the direction of Kiesau-Lee Funeral Home.
