John Thompson
Funeral services for John Thompson, 48, of Cordell, will be held at 6 p.m. Thursday in the Cumberland Presbyterian Church.
He died Saturday, Aug. 6, 2016, in the Oklahoma Heart Hospital in Oklahoma City.
John Howard Thompson III was born April 18, 1968, to Phyllis Marie (Farrell) and John H. Thompson Jr. in Chelsea, Mass.
He was raised in a military family and traveled extensively throughout his young life. He graduated from Limestone High School in Limestone, Maine, in 1986.
He was employed at a plastic company in Maine for a number of years before moving to Oklahoma. He began working for the Sonic Corporation as maintenance supervisor and later transferred to Clinton, where he worked at Sonic until he was forced to take medical retirement in 2013.
He married Aerin Michelle Felch Sept. 24, 2011, in Clinton. Thompson had attended Cumberland Presbyterian Church. He enjoyed race cars, super heroes, and was a big supporter of U.S. military troops.
He was preceded in death by his father.
He is survived by his wife of the home; his mother, of Amarillo, Texas; a son, Cody Thompson, and wife, Emily, of Jay; two step-daughters, Katie Felch and Brianna Denney, of the home; a sister, Cheryl Milbach, and husband Gordon, of Amarillo, Texas; a brother, Brian Thompson, of Sayre; a grandchild, Hattie Thompson, of Jay; a nephew, Logan Parker, and wife, Karina, and a great-niece, Addilynn, all of Amarillo.
The service will be officiated by Rev. Dale Nease, under the direction of Kiesau-Lee Funeral Home. The family will hold a private burial at a later date.
