Junior George Brehm

Funeral services for Junior George Brehm, 88, longtime Clinton resident, will be at 2 p.m., Tuesday in the Broadway Heights Baptist Church, officiated by Rev. Buck Nicholson.
Junior Brehm died Thursday, Dec. 5, 2013, at the Methodist Health Care Center, in Clinton. He was born Aug. 8, 1925 to Pete and Elizabeth (Hamburger) Brehm 7½ miles south of Weatherford, in Washita County.
He was raised in Weatherford and was the eighth of nine children. He attended his schooling in Weatherford, but joined the U.S. Navy on Dec. 7, 1943 and did not graduate with his senior class.
He served during World War II in the Pacific Theatre on the aircraft carriers USS Salamaua and USS Guadalcanal until his discharge in 1946.
He was married to Mildred Johnston Feb. 2, 1951 in Arapaho. His wife of 50 years preceded him in death in 2001.
Brehm worked for the Acme Brick Plant for 20 years. He then accepted a job with the City of Clinton and worked for them for 24 years until his retirement in 1990.
In 2010 he was honored with his high school diploma from Weatherford High School.
He attended the First Church of God until his failing health.
Preceding him in death were his parents; five sisters, Frieda Eyes, Lena Caulkins, Florence Rhoads, Esther Schapansky and Elsie Case; and three brothers, Johnnie Brehm, Adam Brehm and Rudolph Brehm.
Survivors include a daughter, Jeannie Campbell and her husband, Mike, of Clinton; a son, Jackie Brehm and his wife, Jamie; four grandchildren, Scott Campbell and his wife, Amanda, Jason Brehm and his wife, Shyla, Megan Hall and her husband, Jason, and Jered Brehm, all of Piedmont; great grandchildren, Nydia, Zachery, Rebekah, and Olivia Campbell, Carson and Caden Brehm and Cooper Hall; a host of nieces and nephews; two special cousins, Don an Delbert Amen; and a special nephew, Kenneth “Sam” Caulkins.
Burial will conclude in the Arapaho Cemetery under the direction of the Kiesau-Lee Funeral Home, in Clinton.
