Kenneth Albert Nance
Funeral services for Kenneth Albert Nance, 77, Clinton resident, were scheduled for 10 a.m. today (Tuesday) in the First Church of God, officiated by Rev. Roy Dobbs, Sandy Shepherd and Greg Hill.
Nance died Friday, Feb. 27, 2015, at the Integris Clinton Regional Hospital. He was born Nov. 27, 1937 in Clinton, the son of Thomas Albert Nance and Rosa Bertha (Baumgartner) Nance.
He was raised in Butler and graduated from Butler High School in 1956. Nance married Wanda Lou Kauk on June 15, 1957 in Butler.
He worked for Wilbur Levell and Lin Manufacturing Company before starting a 30-year career with the United States Postal Service.
He retired in 1992 from the Post Office, but he became self-employed, working on small engines and lawnmowers, and worked in maintenance at the Custer County Fairgrounds.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
He was a member of the Freewill Baptist Church. Nance had been on numerous bowling teams, and he served as the secretary of the bowling association and was president of the local postal association.
Nance was seen for more than 30 years on the sidelines of the Clinton Red Tornadoes football games running the chains.
Survivors include his wife, Wanda, of the home; two daughters, Debra Nance, of Amarillo, Texas, Kim Nance, of Dallas, Texas; a son, Randy Nance, and his wife, Cara, of Edmond; and one grandson, Colin Nance, and his fiancée, Meagan Taylor, of Oklahoma City.
The family has suggested those wanting to give a memorial contribution in his honor may do so to the First Church of God in Clinton.
Burial will conclude in the Butler Cemetery, under the direction of Kiesau-Lee Funeral Home in Clinton.
