Leta Bell Rayner

 

Funeral services for Leta Bell Rayner, 82, of Clinton were held Monday at the Freewill Baptist Church in Clinton.
Rayner died Thursday, Feb. 7, 2019, in her Clinton home.
She was born Jan. 19, 1937, to W.B. and Irene (Cornelson) Cantrell in Bessie. She was raised in the Putnam area and graduated from Putnam High School. While at school she was an outstanding defensive basketball player.  
On Aug. 18, 1957, she married Russell W. Rayner in Putnam and the couple made their home in Clinton.
Rayner worked as a retail clerk at TG&Y, McLellan Department Store and at K-Mart in Clinton, where she retired.  
She enjoyed watching sports, cooking and collecting recipes, and spending time with her children and grandchildren. 
Rayner was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a brother, James Cantrell; and a niece, Karen Muno.
Survivors include a daughter, Marca Deimund and husband Richard of Cimarron, Kan.; two sons, Wesley Rayner and wife Karen of Geary and Troy Rayner and wife Traci of Hobart; a sister, Stella Fischer of Weatherford; seven grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
The service was officiated by Rev. Charlie Murphy and Rev. Sandy Shepherd. Burial followed at Clinton Cemetery under the direction of Kiesau-Lee Funeral Home.
