Lydia Marie Lane

Funeral services for Lydia Marie (Neugebauer) Stephenson Reiswig Lane, 90-year-old former area resident, were held Monday at Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel in Seminole with Rev. Carl Whitfield officiating.

Interment was in the Union-Hatchett Cemetery near Bessie.

Mrs. Lane died Saturday, May 9, 2015, in Seminole. She was born Nov. 21, 1924 near Foss, the daughter of Gottlieb George Neugebauer and Maggie (Ratke) Neugebauer.

She attended school in Stafford, Solid Rock School near Butler, Guy School west of Clinton and graduated from Clinton High School in 1946.

On May 29, 1946 she married Floyd Stephenson, and farmed in the Clinton area until his death in 1961.

She later married Delmer Reiswig on Dec. 21, 1963, and he preceded her in death in 1990. Then in 2001 Lydia married Albert Lane until their marriage ended in 2004.

Mrs. Lane was active in a Home Demonstration Club. She and her husband, Delmer, were very active square dancers, and were regional and state officers.

She was a beautician from January 1962 until she retired in the 1990’s, owning her own beauty/square dance shop in Clinton. An expert seamstress, she sewed Austin square dance dresses for many people.

Mrs. Lane was a long- time member of the Clinton First Baptist Church, and later the First Methodist Church of Clinton.

Survivors include a son, Robert Stephenson, of Seminole; a daughter, Jullia “Judy” De Los Santos, of Austin, Texas; one sister, Ann Corley, of Anadarko; grandchildren, Renee Foulks, Christina De Los Santos (husband, Paul Schlaud), Michele Stevenson Dudgen, Michael Stephenson; and great-grandchildren, Bradley Foulks, Bailey Foulks, Samantha Foulks, Sarah Foulks, Isaac Schlaud, Sofia Schlaud, Savannah Dudgen, Mariah Dudgen and Kloe Palmer.

Preceding her in death were her brothers and all but one sister, Alfred Neugebauer, Elmer Neugbauer, Dorothy Fawver, Freda Stephenson and Ottilie Wright.
