Mah-hi-vist Touching Cloud Goodblanket

Funeral services for Mah-hi-vist “Red Bird” Touching Cloud Goodblanket, 18, Clinton resident, will be at 12 noon Saturday in the Clinton First Christian Church, officiated by Rev. Lawrence Hart and Dr. Henrietta Mann.
The family will meet and greet guests at the Kiesau-Lee Funeral Home, in Clinton, from 6 to 8 p.m. today.
Goodblanket was born April 11, 1995, in Clinton, the son of Wilbur and Melissa (Archer) Goodblanket. He was named by his grandfather, Tennyson Goodblanket, who named him after “Red Bird’s” great-great-great grandfather. He died Saturday, Dec. 21, 2013, in his Clinton home.
He was raised in Clinton and attended Clinton Schools. At the age of 14 he was chosen to go to Europe as a youth ambassador for his people. He was allowed to travel all over France and England.
Goodblanket graduated from Clinton High School in 2011, which was actually a year ahead of his scheduled graduation. He had been a student at Haskell Indian Tribal University in Lawrence, Kan. and was planning to attend the Cheyenne-Arapaho Tribal College in Weatherford.
Preceding him in death were his paternal grandparents, Ruth and Tennyson Goodblanket, and his maternal grandfather, David Archer.
Goodblanket was a member of the Cheyenne-Arapaho Tribes and also had Cherokee lineage.
He was a member of the Native American Church.
Survivors include his parents, Wilbur and Melissa Goodblanket, of the home; four brothers, Ahk-ta-na-hi Goodblanket, of the home, Raven Goodblanket, Las Vegas, Nev., Eagle Goodblanket, Espanola, N.M., Mike Meadows, Mustang; a sister, Amiyonette Goodblanket, Escondido, Calif.; his companion, Noami Barron and her daughter, Liliana, and maternal grandmother, Elizabeth Archer, all of the home; two nieces, Cheyenne and Lauren Goodblanket; a nephew, Xavier Goodblanket; three uncles; five aunts; and numerous cousins and other nieces and nephews.
Burial will be in the Clinton Cemetery.
