Mary “Kate” Katherine Bruner
Funeral services for Topeka, Kan. resident Mary “Kate” Katherine Bruner, age 80, will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Butler Baptist Church.
Mrs. Bruner died Thursday, April 30, 2015, at the Presbyterian Manor in Topeka.
She was born Jan. 15, 1935 in Elk City, the daughter of Eddie and Rosa Lee Campbell.
Mrs. Bruner accepted Jesus Christ in Butler at the age of 12.
She graduated from Butler High School in 1953. She married Donald W. Bruner on Jan. 10, 1954.
They lived in Wichita until 1971 when they moved to Topeka.
She worked at Adams Business Forms in Topeka for 23 years, retiring from there in 1990.
She was a member of River of Life Pentecostal Church in Topeka where she supported the church by quilting, sewing, crocheting, and cooking pies for fundraising activities.
In 2010 she moved into the Topeka Presbyterian Manor.
Survivors include five children, Ed Bruner, of Olathe, Kan., Dianna Bruner, of Norfolk, Va., Donna Jennings, of Norfolk, Va., Sandy Turkin, of Lyndon, Kan., Richard Bruner, of Topeka, Kan.; seven grandchildren, Sam Bruner, Carolyn Bruner, Lenora Jennings, Leslie Jennings, Cody Turkin, Chelsea Turkin, and Joshua Bruner; and one great grandson, Beau Turkin.
Preceding her in death were her husband, Don; a son, Leslie Bruner; and a son-in-law, Derek Turkin.
Interment will be at the Butler Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Cappers Foundation in Topeka, Kan. and sent in care of the Davidson Funeral Home of Topeka.
