Mary Pauline Gwinn

Graveside services for Mary Pauline Gwinn, 94, Edmond resident, were scheduled for 1 p.m. today (Wednesday) at the Butler Cemetery, with Lynn Brack officiating.

Mrs. Gwinn was born to Grant Walters and Pearl (Morris) Walters in San Acacio, Colo. on April 12, 1920 and died Sunday, Sept. 21, 2014, in Edmond.

She grew up in Clinton and Butler and attended school in both communities before graduating from Butler High School.

On Sept. 23, 1939 in Cherokee, she married John Edward Gwinn. He preceded her in death on Sept. 25, 1998.

Also preceding her in death were two brothers, Garland Walters and Bailey Walters; a sister, Della Barber; and two granddaughters, Rita Kay Gwinn and Kelley Marie Gwinn.

Survivors include three sons, David Gwinn and his wife, Elizabeth, of Edmond, Darryl Gwinn and his wife, Peggy, of Oklahoma City, and James Gwinn of Oklahoma City; a daughter, Diane Mikel and her husband, Larry, of Duncan; four grandchildren, Bobby Gwinn and his wife, Carrie, of Yukon, Brian Mikel of Duncan, Kristen James of Oklahoma City, and Lisa Wright and her husband, David, of Edmond; and six great-grandchildren, Dalton, Dylan, and Dakota Gwinn and Logan, Evan, and Morgan Wright.

Arrangements are under the direction of People’s Cooperative Funeral Home, Lone Wolf.
