Monte A. Meacham

Monte A. Meacham was born on Dec. 25, 1951 to George A. and Pat (Felton) Meacham in Clinton. He passed away on Nov. 24, 2014 in Oklahoma City, Okla. at the age of 62.

Monte graduated from Hydro High School in 1970 and then went on to graduate from Southwestern State College in Weatherford with a degree in accounting.

Monte married Vickie Howard on July 27, 1974 in Hydro, Okla. They lived in Kremlin where Monte worked at the Kremlin and Drummond elevators.

Monte and Vickie moved back to Hydro in the fall of 1980 where Monte had several jobs including the John Deere dealership in Clinton, Hamm and Phillips in Elk City, and then he worked for Jerry Jameson, Bobby Wright,

Premiere Chevrolet and Cummins for many years.

Monte enjoyed socializing, reading western novels, singing, playing music and golfing. He was a member of the Hydro Masonic Lodge No. 230. Monte had been a member of the Hydro United Methodist Church since the age of 12.

Survivors include his wife, Vickie Meacham of Hydro, Okla.; his children, Brett Meacham and wife, Katrina, of Frederick, Md. and Brock Meacham and his wife, LaNae, of Hydro, Okla.;, his grandchildren, David, Grace, Madison, Brax and Maris Meacham; his mother, Pat Meacham of Hydro, Okla.; his sisters, Mona Woods and her husband, Mike, of Hydro, Okla., and Marcy Lustfield and her husband, Myron, of Hydro, Okla.; his mother-in-law, Patty Howard of Hydro, Okla.; a brother-in-law, Mark Howard of Stillwater, Okla.; as well as many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, George A. Meacham; grandparents, C.C. and Artie Meacham and Marshal and Jean Felton; and his father-in-law, Glendon Howard

The family suggests contributions in his honor may be made to Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation/Heart Disease, 825 NE 13th, Oklahoma City, OK 73104.

Services will be in the Hydro United Methodist Church on Wednesday, Nov. 26, 2014, at 2 p.m., with Rev. Brandon Blacksten officiating:
