Sherry Lynn Guzman

A chapel service for Sherry Lynn Guzman, 56, Burns Flat resident, was scheduled for 1 p.m. today (Friday) in the Kiesau Memorial Chapel, officiated by Deacon Bill Hough.

Sherry Lynn (Leonard) Guzman was born in Cheyenne July 11, 1958 to Foster Leonard Jr. and Elsie May (Isch) Leonard. She died Wednesday, May 20, 2015, in the Clinton Regional Hospital.

She was raised in Reydon, and graduated from Reydon High School in 1976. She was married to Rudy Guzman on March 19, 1976 in Durham.

Mrs. Guzman enlisted in the U.S. Army in 1981 and after her honorable discharge she moved to Nebraska.

She continued her education and received her licensed practical nursing certification. She had been employed at the Clinton Veterans Center since 1994, serving there for the past 24 years.

She attended the Catholic Church.

Preceding her in death was a son, Rudolph Joey Guzman.

Survivors include a husband, Rudy, of the home; a daughter, Vickie (Guzman) Mackey, and her husband, Bobby, of Mustang; a son, Tim Guzman, of Edmond; her parents, Foster and Elsie Leonard, of Cheyenne; four sisters, Jan Jones, of Oklahoma City, Carolyn Thompson, of Norman, Marilyn Hall, of Garfield, Kan., and Ann Tidwell, of Clinton; two brothers, Gary Leonard, of Cheyenne, and Steve Leonard, of Reydon; and two grandchildren, Dominic Mackey and Lucian Mackey.

Burial will be in the Clinton Cemetery, under the direction of  Kiesau-Lee Funeral Home in Clinton.
