Vera Dick

Funeral services will be held for Vera Lee (Reinschmiedt) Dick, 88, of Oklahoma City and former Clinton resident, at 1 p.m. Wednesday at the Peace Lutheran Church in Bessie. She died Friday, Jan. 8, 2016, at Integris Hospice House in Oklahoma City.

Mrs. Dick was born Sept. 1, 1927, to Wilhelm “Bill” and Pauline (Wohl) Reinschmiedt, in Washita County. She grew up in Bessie and graduated from Clinton High School in 1945, and in 1948 she married her high school sweetheart, Paul Ervin Dick.

She was a lifetime member of Peace Lutheran Church of Bessie, where she was baptized and confirmed. She taught school at Guy School in Washita County, and worked at TG&Y and Blunck’s, and was an Avon representative for 47 years, earning many Presidential Citations and other awards.

She was preceded in death by her husband; brothers John Reinschmiedt and wife Lillian, Ruben Reinschmiedt, and Donald Reinschmiedt; sisters Clara Reinschmiedt Ross and husband Clair, Rosa Reinschmiedt Ross, and Edna Reinschmiedt Howard and husband, Don; nephew Mike Howard; brother-in-law Gentry Moser; and sister-in-law Arloene Dick.

She is survived by sons Curtis and wife Sparla, Winfield, Kan., Glen and wife, Gayla Oklahoma City, and Doyle and wife Leslie, Greenville, Texas; grandchildren Shanna and Chad Jager, Manhattan, Kan., Aaron and Lyndsay Dick, Shawnee, Kan., Brad and Ashley Dick, Oklahoma City, Michael Dick, Sunnyvale, Calif., and Lexie Dick, Denton, Texas; great-grandchildren Madyson and Delany Trujillo, Campbell Jager, Kamden, Kohen, and Kase Dick, Kamryn Rucker and Glendon Dick; sisters Gladys Reinschmiedt Pankratz and husband Dwayne, Cordell, Lillian Reinschmiedt Neuman and husband John, Northridge, Calif.; brothers-in-law Cork Ross and Gilbert Dick and sisters-in-law Juanita Reinschmiedt and Viola Moser, all of Clinton, sister-in-law Ynez Reinschmiedt, Los Angeles, Calif.; and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family will greet guests today (Tuesday)from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Kiesau-Lee Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, they request that memorials be made to Peace Lutheran Church, P. O. Box 33, Bessie, OK  73622, or to Integris Hospice House, 13920 Quailbrook Drive, Oklahoma City, OK 73134.

Services will be officiated by Pastor Jerry Lamb. Interment will follow at Peace Lutheran Cemetery under the direction of Kiesau-Lee Funeral Home
