Zettie Kauk

Funeral services for Zettie Kauk, 87, Leedey homemaker, will be at 2 p.m. today (Saturday) in the Leedey High School Auditorium.

She died Wednesday, April 1, 2015, at Elk City.

Mrs. Kauk died Wednesday, April 1, 2015 in Elk City. She was born April 13, 1927 at the family farm north of Butler.

She was a member of the Church of Christ in Leedey but worshipped with the Pioneer Church of Christ in Elk City after moving to the Bell Avenue Nursing Home in 2008.

She married Calvin “Cappie” Kauk on Aug. 18, 1945, a union that lasted 67 years until his death in 2012.

Survivors include a daughter, Cheryl Stringer, and her husband, Tommy, of Corsicana, Texas; a son, Keith Kauk, and his wife, Mona, of Atlanta, Ga.; granddaughters, Angie Stone, and her husband, Byron, of San Antonio, Texas; Julie Ouchley, and her husband, Jeremy, of Boise, Idaho; Shanele Mason, and her husband, Jim, of Columbus, Ohio; and Sherri Kauk, of Los Angeles, Calif.; six great-grandchildren, Maggie and Kiera Mason; Evan, Natalie, and Sarah Stone and Hudson Ouchley; a brother, Delano Ramsey, and his wife, Judy, of Butler; sisters, Virginia Starks, and her husband, Paul, of Garner, N.C., Janice Hadley, of Alvarado, Texas, and Darlene Gooch, and her husband, Emie, of Cincinnati, Ohio;  and a number of nieces and nephews.

Preceding her in death were her parents, Frank and Hazel Ramsey; a brother, Buford Ramsey; and sisters, Twila Roper and Judy Goldsberry.

Interment will be in the Center Point Cemetery at Leedey following the service.

The family suggests memorial donations in her honor may be made to the Leedey Church of Christ, P.O. Box 207, Leedey, OK 73654 or to a charity of one’s choice.
