ELK CITY – Clinton tennis nearly won both sides of the Elk City Invitational Friday, as the girls took the team title and the boys earned second place.
Clinton golf finished up back-to-back weekday tournaments Monday with the boys’ team playing Friday at Weatherford, and the girls earning fourth place at Elk City.
A complete game, two-earned run performance from Clinton pitcher Chris Brooks failed to yield a home, district win Monday night falling in game one to Kingfisher 2-0.
Clinton baseball (7-8 overall, 4-3 district) ended the I-40 Classic going 1-2 over its final three games, but it did find some nice pitching depth for the rest of the season.
