Donna Gene (Moore) Oglesby

Funeral services for Donna Gene (Moore) Oglesby, 75-year-old Eakly resident, will be at 2 p.m. today (Tuesday) at First Baptist Church of Eakly, with Virgil Payne officiating.

Mrs. Oglesby died Saturday, Aug. 9, 2014, at United Methodist Health Care Center in Clinton. She was born Aug. 10, 1938, in Eakly, the daughter of Archie and Imogene (Enyart) Moore.

She was raised and attended school in Eakly, graduating from Eakly High School in 1956.  On Nov. 27, 1956, she married Rea Gene Oglesby, and they made their home in Eakly.

Mrs. Ogleby attended the Eakly United Methodist Church.  She was an active member serving as Sunday school teacher, MYF director and helped with many activities.

Mrs. Oglesby joined a home demonstration club, now OHCE, in 1959.  She was a member for 55 years and held multiple local positions, also serving as Caddo County president. In the late 1990’s, she was voted Oklahoma Homemaker of the Year.

Survivors include one daughter, Traci Archer and her husband, Junior, of Clinton; two sons, Matt Oglesby and his wife, Vicki, of Tomball, Texas, and Todd Oglesby of Eakly; two sisters, Linda Hooker of Duncan and Helen Horn of Richardson, Texas; three brothers, Roger Moore and his wife, Becky, of Eakly, Bobby Moore and his wife, Brenda, of Carnegie,  and Rocky Moore and wife, Ingrid of Ashland, Ore.; seven grandchildren, Devin Oglesby and wife, Ashley of Edmond, Colin Eckersley of Houston, Texas, Erin Oglesby of Tomball, Texas, Hunter Oglesby of Hinton, Laken Thornton and her husband, Cody, of Hinton, Colby Archer of Stillwater, and Jacob Archer of Clinton; and two great-grandchildren, Abigail Oglesby and Taver Thornton.

Preceding her in death were her parents, Archie and Imogene Moore; her husband, Rea Gene Oglesby; and one grandson, Payton Kole Oglesby.

Burial will follow at Eakly Cemetery, under the direction of Lockstone Funeral Home of Weatherford.
