A bird was believed to be the culprit this time as Clinton experienced another power outage Tuesday morning. It was the third in less than two weeks.
“A bird crossed two lines and somehow caused a shortage,” said Fire Chief Forrest Valentine. “That’s the report we got from the scene – that it was caused by a bird. It happens occasionally with squirrels or snakes or birds. Any of ’em can cause it.”
Valentine said it was his understanding the bird made physical contact with both lines or else caused the two lines to contact each other.
