Windell Joan Johnston
A graveside service will be held for Windell Joan Johnston, 72, of Lone Wolf, at 10 a.m. today at Lawnview Cemetery in Cordell.
She died Friday, May 18, 2018.
Johnston was born April 1, 1946, to Georgia Oneta (Moore) and W.E. “Bill” Watkins in Ralls, Texas. She graduated from high school in 1964 in Arapaho.
She married Michael Ryan Johnston June 1, 1968, in Cordell. She had worked at Dairy Queen and Highland Nursing Home before marrying.
She and her husband owned and operated Princess Theatre in Eureka, Kan., for five years. They then sold it and purchased the Chisholm Trail Drive-In and the Regent Theatre in Wellington, Kan.
In 1981 they sold their businesses and moved to Lone Wolf. In 1988, they purchased and operated W&W Reloading Company.
Johnston was a member of Eastern Star in Wellington, Kan.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and 10 brothers and sisters.
Survivors include a daughter, Tammy Morris and husband David of Lone Wolf; two grandchildren, Cheyenne and Sheltin Morris; two brothers, Arbie Watkins and wife Shirley and Kenneth Watkins and wife Vicki, all of Arapaho; and numerous nieces and nephews.
